Layer: NFHP 2015 Hawaii Assessment of Fish Habitat Degradation (ID: 1)

Name: NFHP 2015 Hawaii Assessment of Fish Habitat Degradation

Display Field: nfhp_text

Type: Feature Layer

Geometry Type: esriGeometryPolygon

Description: These data contain cumulative fish habitat condition index (HCI) scores and specific disturbance indices for local and network stream catchments as well as the downstream main channel catchment of perennial and intermittent streams reaches of the five main island of Hawai'i. In this dataset indices are linked to the Hawaii Fish Habitat Partnership (HFHP) stream layer (Tingley et al. in prep) which is a modified version of the 1:24,000 National Hydrography Dataset. It includes 11,436 intermittent and perennial stream reaches across the five main Hawaiian Islands (Hawai’i, Maui, Moloka’i, O’ahu, Kaua’i). Catchment attributes are available for both local catchments (defined as the land area draining directly to a reach; attributes begin with "lc_" prefix) and upstream network catchments (defined by all upstream contributing catchments to the reach's outlet, including the reach's own local catchment; attributes begin with "nc_" prefix). Downstream main channel variables for reaches are labeled using a "dm_" prefix. Detailed methods for creation of disturbance indices as well as cumulative fish habitat condition index scores can be found on the following website: https://assessment.fishhabitat.org/. These data are part of the NFHP 2015 National Assessment.
